Exploring Sake + Temperature
Ticketed Event
Join us for a seminar exploring the affects of temperature on sake. Learn how and why temperature changes how we perceive different flavors and prepare to be surprised!
Addressing frequently asked questions like What temperature should I store my sake? to Is hot sake bad?–we look forward to offering nuggets of information and debunk myths! We'll also go over how to store and prepare your sakes at different temperatures.
Your hosts will be Yoko (Sake Sommelier and Kikizakeshi) of Umami Mart and Bella Pearson of the Kome Collective. Together, let's learn why and how temperature changes the flavors in sake!
We'll be trying four different sakes at two temperatures to see how flavor profiles change with the addition of heat. Sake will include Konteki "Pearls of Simplicity" Junmai Daiginjo, Mantensei Kinoko Junmai Ginjo and two of our featured sakes for Sake Gumi for the month of September: Sankan Shuzo Junmai Ginjo and Toko Sun Rise Junmai Ginjo. Each attendee will get a tasting card showing the sakes and their descriptions.
